In an effort to help bring relief to those affected by Hurricane Sandy, the Volvo Group plans to donate $100,000 to relief efforts; $50,000 to the American Red Cross, $25,000 to the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City and $25,000 to the City of Allentown, PA.  “With several major facilities and thousands of employees in regions affected by the storm, we’re keenly aware of the lingering effects of this disaster,” said Dennis Slagle, Volvo Group executive vice president for Trucks Sales & Marketing Americas.

The group president of Caterpillar, Stu Levenick, has been promoted from Vice Chair and elected 2013 Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) Chair. He will lead the AEM Board of Directors to achieve AEM’s 2013 goals, priorities and strategic direction.

Did you know that Liebherr cranes are becoming increasingly vital in stadium construction? Approximately nine out of the twelve 2014 FIFA Soccer World Cup stadiums are being built with the help of Liebherr cranes; including 15 Top-Slewing Tower Cranes of the EC-B, EC-H, and HC series.
