Two D6Ns Put to Work Filling Crevasse Holes During 'The Coldest Journey'

Coldest Journey

It's never just another day at work for the Cat® D6N during the trailblazing winter journey across Antarctica.

The D6Ns, nicknamed "Seeker" and "Rover," are pulling an Ice Train over treacherous terrain, encountering crevasse fields and blue ice in the first weeks of the expedition.

In the last days of April, expedition members found themselves in an area surrounded by crevasses. While the Coldest Journey team scouted the area for crevasses, the Cat machines were put to work on the task of filling holes.

It cleared the way for the Ice Team to move on and for the dozers to move on to their next jobs.
