With its recent staging in Chile, EXPOMIN 2016, XIV World Mining Exhibition and Congress for Latin America, confirmed its position as the leading trade fair for the global mining sector in Latin America despite the difficult economic climate. Over five busy trade fair days, about 70,000 international trade visitors participated to see the latest technologies, equipment components, machinery, plants and services for raw materials mining and preparation presented by 1,266 exhibitors on 685,768 square feet of exhibit space.
In her opening speech, Chilean President Michelle Bachelet emphasized the importance of EXPOMIN for her country’s mining sector: “We will provide the momentum for a post-modern economy with modern and innovative development while not neglecting copper. EXPOMIN offers an ideal platform for making new contacts, strengthening relations between the private and the public sector as well as opening up new business opportunities.”
